Arlington Southwest Kiwanis Welcomes You!

How does your club welcome their visitors? Check out the information sheet that the Arlington Southwest Kiwanis gives to each new visitor.

We are pleased to have you attend our meeting today as our guest. Perhaps you were invited by a club member or you're visiting from another Kiwanis club...whatever the reason WE ARE GLAD YOU'RE HERE!

Our club, one of five clubs in Arlington, meets at noon on Tuesdays at First United Methodist Church, 313 North Center Street. Chartered on April 12, 1974, the Arlington Southwest Club has a long history of service projects benefiting our community, our nation and, through Kiwanis International, the World. Kiwanis offers opportunity for personal involvement in projects designed to benefit our local community, especially young children. Kiwanis International defines our purpose as "service to youth and the elderly, to community and nation". Our Motto is "Serving the Children of the World".

At the "local level", our club has several service or fund raising projects each year. We contribute time and funds to many local organizations including the Women's Shelter, Mission Arlington and the Public Library. Some of our projects include: •Annual Chili Day •Christmas Food Basket Delivery •Musical Night Out •Christmas Caroling and Valentines Day Serenades at local nursing homes •Salvation Army Christmas Bell ringing •Venture Alternative High School Student and Teacher of the Month •Mission Arlington School Supply Project

Arlington Southwest Club also sponsors two K-Kids Clubs at Berry and Rankin Elementary schools in Arlington. We are proud of our sponsored youth and are rewarded by their enthusiasm when they are conducting meetings, planning projects and working for their school and community. Our members attend their after-school meetings and, occasionally, they attend our Tuesday noon meetings.

Each Tuesday, we gather to enjoy a bit of fellowship, some good food and an interesting and educational program. Our members come from many different business disciplines, professions and backgrounds. Some of our folks are still hard at work and some have reached retirement, but choose to remain active and connected to their community.

The Kiwanis Club of Arlington Southwest welcomes our guests and encourages you to COME AGAIN!
